Swimmers from the Region have been competing at the European Junior Swimming Championships in Helsinki.
Rachael Williamson (Kingston upon Hull SC) had a busy schedule, competing in the 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m Freestyle and the 200m Butterfly. Williamson swam to 10th in the 200m Fly and 8th in the 800m Freestyle. She was 11th in the 400m Freestyle and 13th in the heats of the 200m Freestyle. Her 1500m swim saw her finish in ninth place.
Braxston Timm of City of Sheffield SC won relay medals in the 4 x 100m Freestyle team (2nd) and 4 x 200m Freestyle team (2nd). He was also in the 4 x 100m Medley team, which finished fourth and missed out on an individual medal in the same session when he placed fourth in the 100m Butterfly. He was tenth in the heats of the 200m Butterfly.
Phoebe Lenderyou (City of Newcastle SC) was the eighth fastest in the heats of the 200m Backstroke, but as the fourth British swimmer she couldn't go on to the semi-finals. She was 10th in the 50m Backstroke and 9th in the 100m Backstroke.
Danielle Hall-Jackson (City of Leeds SC) was eighth in the 1500m Freestyle and 23rd in the 400m Freestyle.
Sian Morgan (City of Bradford SC) was 12th in the 400m Freestyle.
Thomas Sunter from City of Sheffield SC was fourth in the 800m Freestyle and ninth in the 1500m Freestyle.
