Kingston Upon Hull swimmers claimed the silver medal at this years British Gas National Age Group Championships. Amy Felgate, Grace Dennis, Amy Beadle and Roisin Kelly produced lifetime best swims to hold off the challenge of Stockport Metro.

The five-day event saw 8 swimmers represent the club:

Eight swimmers represented the club at the five-day event. Grace Dennis, Eleanor Thompson, Amy Beadle, Daniel Stone, Hannah Falkinder, Shannon McGahey, Roisin Kelly and Amy Felgate all qualified to compete at the premier event of the year.

Day 1

Day 1 saw Grace Dennis claim the Bronze medal in the Girls 13 years 100 metres Freestyle. Grace broke the 1-minute barrier in both her heat (59.19) and final (59.52). Daniel Stone recorded a personal best time in the Boys 100 metres Backstroke (1:16.93). Hannah Falkinder (2:43.68) and Grace Dennis (2:27.72) both performed well in the Girls 200 metres Backstroke as did Shannon McGahey in the Girls 1500 metres Freestyle (20:04.45).

Day 2

Grace Dennis produced two personal best swims from heat (4:28.94) to final (4:25.73) in the Girls 13 years 400 metres Freestyle to take the silver medal. The Girls 4 x 100 Freestyle team consisting of Amy Felgate, Grace Dennis, Amy Beadle and Roisin Kelly qualified for the final in 3rd position (4:08.19) but narrowly missed in the final finishing 5th (4:09.82).

Day 3

Daniel Stone continued his fine form recording another personal best time in the boys 200 metres Backstroke (2:42.09). Shannon McGahey recorded performed well in the 200 metres Butterfly (2:48.70) and 800 metres Freestyle recording a new personal best of 10:23.47. Amy Beadle swam close to her personal best in the Girls 800 metres Freestyle (10:02.39) and Grace Dennis claimed the silver medal in the 13 years age group with a personal best time (9:05.38). Grace went on to take the Bronze medal in the Girls 13 years 200 metres Freestyle with a time of 2:06.40 an improvement of 2 seconds from her heat.

Day 4

Day 4 saw the Kingston relay team competing in the Girls 4 x 200 metres Freestyle. Amy Felgate, Grace Dennis, Amy Beadle and Roisin Kelly all performed personal bests to qualify for the final in 2nd position (8:55.23). Determined not to be overhauled again, the team stepped it up in the final to take the silver medal (8.49.00). Eleanor Thomson overcame her nerves to set a personal best time of 1:08.60 in the Girls 100 metres Backstroke while Grace Dennis (1:09.39) and Hannah Falkinder (1:16.72) also swam close to their personal bests.

Day 5

Day 5 saw the Kingston relay team in action again in the Girls 4 x 100 metres Medley Team. Roisin Kelly (Backstroke), Eleanor Thomson (Breaststroke), Grace Dennis (Butterfly) and Amy Felgate (Freestyle) narrowly missed out on qualifying for the final finishing in 11th place (4:42.97).
