Tadpoles
The Tadpole events of our 4th club gala was well supported by 28 entries in the 25m freestyle and 26 in the 25m backstroke, with all swimmers giving a 100% effort and achieving a level of ability that bodes well for the future of the club.
The first event was the Girls 25m Freestyle , in the 7yrs and under category , Eva Lowery claimed the Gold medal with a time of 27.26, Kaci Hope took Silver and Eloise Shuttleworth the Bronze.
In the 8yrs and over, the Gold medal went to Megan Grey with a respectable time of 19.29, followed by Isabella Waudby taking the Silver and Paris Croll the Bronze medal.
Turning to the Boys 25m Freestyle, in the 7yrs and under category Matthew Blain lead the way to take Gold with a time of 33.52, Samuel Clubley shaved 2 secends off his previous time to take Silver and Evan Offen was awarded the bronze medal in his first club gala.
In the 8yrs and over Nathan Porter’s efforts were rewarded when he gained the gold in a time of 20.77 beating his previous time by 4 secs, Benjamin Shipleys took silver on his debut gala and Oliver Farrah took the bronze. In the same race Lewis Taylor put in a marvellous performance to take 5 secs off his personal best.
Next came the Girls 25m Backstroke, with the 7yrs and under seeing Eloise Shuttleworth reduce her personal best to 32.88 and was rewarded with the Gold, Kaci Hope took 3 secs off her personal best to secure the Silver and Eva Lowery gained the Bronze for her second medal of the day.
In the 8yrs and over category Paris Croll took 2 secs off her PB to claim the gold with a time of 23.44, Megan Gray, gained silver and Isabella Waudby took home the Bronze medal.
Equally excellent results were seen in the Boys 25m Backstroke, in the 7yrs and under, Matthew Blain did the double to be awarded his second Gold medal of the day, Evan Offen received his second medal of the day with Silver and Samual Clubley gaining Bronze.
In the 8yrs and over section Oliver Farrah put in a time of 24.53 for Gold, Nathan Porter Narrowly edged in front of Ben Shipley to take the Silver, Ben Rimmington reduced his PB by an impressive 4 secs further reflecting the quality and commitment right across the board at the younger end of the club.
Age 3 Squad
An excellent start was seen by our our age group 3’s, First up was the Girls 100m IM which saw Lily Hawkard take the gold medal with a time of 1:47.07, Jolie Bull the silver in1:48.10 with a 4 sec PB and Hannah Sedman-Smith the Bronze 1:54.64. In the same race there were some huge improvements in times with Alexandra Rolmanis achieving a 8 sec PB with a time of and Katy Greenacre knocking an impressive 9 secs off her previous time. Good swims were also seen by Rebecca Budgen, Ruby Willingham, Josie Scorah and Ellie Peaks.
In the Boys 100 IM, more excellent performances was seen, Michael Hill who took the silver in a time of 1:53.34 and Cameron Offen took bronze with a time of 1:54.62 improving his previous time by 8sec, impressive times were also seen by Liam Spence gaining 8 sec PB, Charlie Bucur 10 sec PB and William Bucur knocking a huge 11 secs off his last IM.
Next came the Girls 100m Freestyle, Good performances were seen by, Hannah Sedman-Smith, Ellie Peaks, Alexandra Rolmanis, Katy Greenacre, Emily Thackray-Nocera, Rebecca Budgen, Ruby Willingham and Josie Scorah, all received respectable times.
Then it was the Boys 100m Freestyle which saw, Charlie Bucur, Cameron Offen, Liam Spence, Michael Hill and William Bucur putting in excellent performances and gaining some good times.
In the 200m Girls Breaststroke, Lily Hawkard, Alexandra Rolmanis, Jolie Bull, Katy Greenacre and Hannah Sedman-Smith, had excellent swims gaining good times.
The Boys 200m Breaststroke, Liam Spence and Cameron Offen, were the only two age group 3 boys competing, both of them put in an excellent performance.
The final races of the day saw the 50m Girls butterfly, which saw Lily Haward gain her second Gold of the day with a time of 54:98, Jolie Bull her second silver of the day in 58:73 and Ellie Peaks the bronze with a time of 1:02.50.
Age 2 Squad
What a fantastic Gala it was for age 2 squad who were represented by Mathew Longhorn, Lewis Marsters, Logan Young, Lewis Collins, Samuel Baily, Gabriel Larkin, Callum Wright, Luke Chapman, Laura Bailes Alex Millington, Melissa Machin, Francesca Cone, Emily Tate, Aleah Ross, Hollie Verity, Emma Newmarch, Cesena Ball, Maddie Tait, Natasha Clarke, Emily Wilkinson, Hannah Bird, Molly Marritt, Megan Batterbee and Jolie Bull.
The squad achieved 75 PB’s, this meant that they achieved PB’s in nearly every single heat, they also came back with 15 Medals and an outstanding 8 Yorkshire Times.
Gaining Yorkshire times were Samuel Bailey in the 50m fly and 200im, Melissa Machin in the 100m free and 200m im,Aleah Ross,Hollie Verity in the 200im, Megan Batterbee 100m freestyle. Jolie Bull swam 3 events after joining the squad recently and produced 3 PB, Silver medal and a Yorkshire time in the 100m IM.
Matthew Longhorn swam 3 events and achieved 3 PB’s and 2 Medals collecting a Silver and a Bronze medal. Lewis Marster's swam in 4 events and achieved 3 PB’s along with Medals in 3 two silver and one Bronze. Logan Young swam 3 events and achieved PB’s in all of them and achieved an amazing 8 sec improvement in the 200 Breast. Lewis Collins swam in 4 events and gained 2 PBs and a Gold in the 200m Breast. Emma Newmarch swam 4 heats and achieved 4 PB’s and in the 200 IM Emma reduced her PB by an amazing 1 minute. Emily Wilkinson swam in 3 events and achieved 2 PBs in the 200m Back Emily gained a 30 sec.
Age 1 Squad
The first event was the girls 200m I.M, In the 11 years and under Yasmin Brown took the gold in a time of 2.54.67 with Darcey Hambly taking the silver with a new PB. In the 12/13 years age group Shannon Mcgahey took the gold with a PB time of 2.38.58 with Emily Bailey taking the silver and Lauren Hall the bronze with a 4 second PB. Abigail Malton put in an impressive swim to get a 7 second PB to gain her first ever Yorkshire qualifying time.
In the boys event birthday boy Jack woodcock took the gold with a PB to gain his 11 year old Yorkshire time .In the 12/13 years age group Will Maddrell took the gold in a time of 2.35.08, with Bailey Hairsine taking the silver and Josh Hawkard the bronze.
The next event was the 100 free where Yasmin took the 11 and under gold in a time of 1.11.06 and Darcey took the silver. In the 12/13 years group Shannon took the gold in a time of 1.05.80 with Lauren getting a new PB to take silver and Emily hitting her recent times to take the bronze. Chloe put in a great swim to get a 3 second PB and her 13 years Yorkshire time. Abigail put in a good swim to PB her way to her second Yorkshire qualifying time.
It was a close fought battle in the boys 11and under event with Ben and Jack swimming in lanes next to each other both gained PB’s in the event but it was Ben who took the gold in a time of 1.17.29 and jack came in at 1.17.89 to take the silver and another Yorkshire time. Will Maddrell took his second gold in a time of 1.04.26 with Bailey his second silver and josh his second Bronze with Ruairidh having another good swim. Joe Morris took the bronze in a time of 1.05.36.
In the 200m breast Yasmin took her 3rd gold medal in a time of 3.29.90 and Darcey her 3rd silver medal . Jessica Chapman took the gold in the 12/13 with a time of 3.10.91 with Lauren getting a 2 second PB to take the silver and Shannon putting in an impressive swim to knock 11 seconds off her time to take the bronze medal , and Abigail gaining a 2 second PB and Chloe a new PB with Hannah putting in a good swim.
Jack took bronze in the boys 11 and under with an impressive 14 second PB. Will was going for a clean sweep and took the gold in a time of 2.54.27 with Bailey taking the silver and Josh and Ruairidh putting in good efforts. Joe took the gold in the 14 and over’s with a time of 2.56.08.
The last race was 50m butterfly where Yasmin made it 4 gold’s for 4 events finishing in a time of 38.67 the mornings training session was starting to show for Darcey were she finished 4th hitting her PB time. It was Emily who had a fantastic swim to take the gold in the 11/12’s swimming a time of 33.77, Shannon got a PB to take the silver medal and Lauren took the bronze. Leoni Put in a great swim knocking 3 seconds off her time.
Ben swam his way to a PB to take the gold in a time of 41.46 with jack showing signs of the morning training he managed to hit his entry time to come 4th. Will managed 4 gold’s for 4 events finishing his last event in a time of 32.39 with Bailey swimming his way to his 4th silver medal and Ruairidh taking the bronze medal.
Regional Squad
The Regional squad had a good turn out in the clubs 4th club championships. 13 year old Elliott Stephenson was on good form, Elliott improved his 200IM time by a massive 18 seconds. He backed that up with a 9 second improvement in the 100m freestyle 1.13.88 and just for good measure set a new life time best in the 200m breastroke.
16 year old Tom Longhorn had a good personal best swim 200m breastroke and the 50m butterfly. 14 year old Isabella Moore knocked 17 seconds off her 200m breaststroke time with her sister Maria (15) collecting a bronze medal in the 100 freestyle event in a time of 1.11.35.
Emma Beadle managed improved times in her 100m frontcrawl and the 200m breaststroke (3.13.32). 21 year old James Rodmell had 3 swims, in the 200IM, 50m fly and 100m freestyle. His best swim came in the 100m free were he further improved his time to 56.77.
