Hull & District Meet (3) – Ennerdale – 22nd May 2011

Age 3 Squad

Excellent performances were seen by a few of our Age 3 squad at the 3rd Hull and District Meet.

The first race of the day was the Girls 25m Butterfly, which saw Ruby Willingham giving an excellent performance and gaining a respectable time of 27:31

Next was the Boys 25m Butterfly, Which saw Cameron Offen putting in a good performance and achieving 4th place with a time of 28:22

In the Girls 200m Breaststroke, excellent performances were seen by Ruby Willingham, Lily Hawkard and Alexandra Rolmanis who improved her time by 7 secs from the club gala the day before.

The Boys 200m Breaststroke, Cameron Offen gained a Bronze medal with a time of 4:59.28, also improving his time by 5 secs from the previous gala.

Age 2 Squad

Swimming for age group 2 in the Hull and District were Aleah Ross, Samuel Bailey, Matthew Longhorn, Logan Young, Callum Wright, Hollie Verity, Emily Wilkinson, Hannah Bird and Megan Batterbee.

In the Girls 50m Free 10 Yrs. Aleah Ross took gold with an amazing time of 33:36sec which would have been a 12yrs Yorkshire Time.

In the Girls 200m Back Emily Wilkinson improved her PB buy a fantastic 28 sec. At the same event 11 year old Matthew Longhorn collected a silver Medal and a 2 sec improvement.

In the 200m Breast 9yrs Hollie Verity improved her PB by 6 sec’s whilst taking the Bronze Medal. In the 10yrs Aleah Ross took Gold in a new life time best time.

The boys 10yrs 200m Breast brought Samuel Bailey a Silver medal in a time of 3:48.66.

Age 1 Squad

Ben Chapman had a great gala swimming in the 200m back and 100m free where he took gold in both events swimming a new PB time of 2.57.29 in the backstroke. Hannah Willingham put in a fantastic swim in the 200m back to knock 15 seconds of her time to take the 4th place medal she then knocked 5 seconds of her 100m free to take the bronze medal. Josh Hawkard swam his way to the gold medals in the 200m back and 100m free where he finished in a time of 1.10.92. Ruairidh took the silver in 200 fly in a time of 3.22.36 and the bronze in 100m back. It was a day for big PB’s for the girls with Lauren Hall knocking 15 seconds of her 200 fly time to take the gold ,she also took the gold in the 100m back with a PB time of 1.16.33

Regional Squad

The regional development squad had 4 swimmers competing in the Hull and district gala, James Rodmell, Danny Brown, Emma Beadle and Elliott Stephenson. James swum in the 100m breaststroke where he managed a joint second place with Danny Brown, but is best swim was in the 200im were he took the top boy award. 14 year old Emma Beadle swum in the gruelling 200m butterfly event and not only improved her time but won the top girl award and backed this up with a 3 second improvement in the 100m backstroke. The stand or performance of the day came from 12 year old Elliott Stephenson you lowered his 100m freestyle time from 1.24 to 1.13 a massive 11 second improvement.
