Age 3 Squad

Session 1

Impressive swims were seen by our age 3’s, for some it was their first big competition gala. In the girls 9yrs 100M IM Lily Hawkard gained 5th place with a time of 1:39.44 knocking 4 seconds off her previous time and Alexandra Rolmanis had a good swim gaining an 8 second PB.

Next came the boys 9yrs 50m freestyle Cameron Offen gained 4th place in a time of 42.47 knocking a huge 12 seconds off his previous time and achieving his first Yorkshire time.

Then came the boys 10yrs & over 100M backstroke which saw great swims from Charlie Bucur, James Dodd and William Bucur.

In the boys 10yrs & over Liam Spence put in a good performance achieving a time of 1:01.69

Session 2

The first swim of the afternoon was the boys 9yrs 100m IM, which saw Cameron Offen gaining a silver medal.

Next came the girls 9yrs Freestyle, Lily Hawkard had another good swim achieving 6th place and her 2nd PB of the day knocking 5 seconds of her previous time, Alexandra Rolmanis achieved a 14 second PB and a Yorkshire time.

In the boys 10yrs & over good swims were seen by all and great times achieved.

Session 3

To start the day, we saw the girls 9yrs backstroke, Lily Hawkard achieved a 3 sec PB, a good swim was also seen by, Jolie Bull.

Then came the boys 9yrs backstroke, Cameron Offen gained a 6 second personal best achieving 5th place.

In the Boys 10yrs & over 200m freestyle saw Charlie Bucur knock an impressive 15 seconds off his time, James Dodd, Liam Spence and William Bucur had great swims.

Next came the girls 10yrs & over 50m breaststroke, Josie Schorah had an excellent swim, gaining a good time.

Final race for the day was the boys 10yrs & over backstroke, William Bucur achieved a 2 sec PB, Liam Spence a 4sec PB and James Dodd 2 sec PB.

Session 4

The Boys 9yrs Breaststroke started the afternoon with Cameron Offen gaining 6th place

Next came the Girls 9yrs Breaststroke which saw Lily Hawkard knock 6 seconds off her PB and Alexandra Rolmanis knock 10 secs off her PB.

In the Boys 10 & over 100m freestyle, Charlie Bucur, James Dodd, Liam Spence and William Bucur all had good swims and achieved good times.

In the Boys 9yrs 50m butterfly Cameron Offen came in 6th place achieving a good time.

Next was the Girls 9yrs butterfly Lily Hawkard came in 7th place with a huge 15 sec PB which was her 4th PB of the weekend, Jolie Bull also had a great swim knocking a second off her previous time.

In the top male age group 9yrs Cameron Offen came an impressive 4th in the table.

All the swimmers gave 100% effort and commitment which reflected in their times achieved.

Age 2 Squad

The end of season open gala produced some fantastic results, over the two days the squad achieved 83 PB’s 2 Medals and 7 Winter Yorkshire times.

Session One

Boys 10/11yrs 100m Back started the events off where Matthew Longhorn achieved a 4 sec PB in a winter Yorkshire time of 1:27.20 also achieving PB’s where Lewis Marsters 1:34.08 and Luke Taylor 1:32.67, swimming the event for the first time was Matthew Dixon achieving a time of 1:40.02.

Girls 10/11yrs 100m Breast produced some fantastic PB’s Alex Millington produced the biggest a 10 sec’s improvement when coming in a time of 1:58.75, others producing PB’s where Mellissa Machin 1:44.77 a 5 sec PB, Aleah Ross 1:42.35 a 3 sec PB, Emma Newmarch kept her run of PB’s up with a time of 1:50.81 a 6 sec PB and Emily Wilkinson produced a 8 sec PB time of 2:03.87.

Boys 10/11yrs 200m Fly produced the first medal when Luke Chapman achieved a 1 sec PB time of 1:32.93 coming in Bronze place

Girls 10/11yrs 50m Back produced 6 PBs Mellissa Machin 41:24 4 sec PB, Hannah Bird achieve one of her 6 PB’s 48:65 3 sec, Emily Tate achieved a 3 sec PB time of 46:68,Emma Newmarch gained a 6 sec PB time of 45:15 Laura Bailes achieved a time if 45:85 a 3 sec PB and Alex Millington gained a fantastic PB time of 47:69 a 14 sec PB.

Boys 10/11yrs 50m Breast produced PB’s for Luke Taylor 54:05 a 4 sec PB, Matthew Dixon 57.07 a 1 sec PB and a great 6 sec PB from Gabriel Larkin in a time of 1:01.62.

Girls 10/11yrs 200m Free produced some of the biggest PB’s of the weekend where Laura Bailes achieved a 7 sec PB time of 3:17.28, Mellissa Machin’s time of 2:48.31 was a 10 sec PB, Emily Tate achieved a 7 sec PB time of 3:09.38, Aleah Ross achieved o 2 sec PB time of 2:55.11, Hannah Bird’s time of 3:33.68 was a 7 sec PB finally the biggest PB improvement by far was achieved in a fantastic swim by Emma Newmarch who improved her previous time by 26 sec’s with a time of 3:04.92

Session 2

Boys 10/11yrs 200im got the afternoon session of for age 2 where Luke Chapman produced a PB time of 3:12.15 a 6 sec PB coming in 7th, Lewis Collins achieved a 10 sec PB with a time of 3:24.19 and swimming the event for the first time was Matthew Dixon who produced a great time of 3:44.23

Girls 10yrs and over 100m Free was the first race for the girls producing 5 PB’s and a winter Yorkshire Time, PB’s where achieved by Alex Millington 1:26.95 a 13 sec PB, Emily Tate 1:30.31 a 2 sec PB, Emma Newmarch followed her 200m PB with a 5 sec PB time of 1:27.02,Hannah Bird 1:39.32 a 3 sec PB and then Cesena Wild Produced a Fantastic swim to achieve her winter Yorkshire time with a 4 sec PB time of 1:13.53.

Boys 10/11yrs 100m Fly Lewis Marsters, Luke Taylor and Luke Chapman swam in this heat and a three produced PB times Marsters swam a time of 1:47.90 a 5 sec PB, Taylor swam a time of 1:45.49 a 9 sec PB and Chapman took Bronze with a 2 sec PB time of 1:32.93.

Girls 10yrs and over 200m Back once again the Girls pulled of some fantastic PB’s in this event Melissa Machin 3:17.77 a 4 sec PB, Megan Batterbee 3:22.31 an amazing 11 sec PB, Laura Bailes 3:23.57 a great 11 sec PB, Emma Newmarch an outstanding 45 sec PB time of 3:27.32, Maddie Tait 3:34.15 a 9 sec PB, Emily Tate 3:35.78 a 8 sec PB and Natasha Clark produced a fantastic PB improvement of 23 sec’s taking her time under the 4 min barrier for the first time with a swim of 3:48.26.

Boys 10/11yrs 50m Free produced top 10 finishes for Luke Taylor 37:37 and Matthew Longhorn 37:39 and PB’s where achieved by Lewis Marsters 38:59, Logan Young 41:37, Matthew Dixon 39:54 and Gabriel Larkin 40:77

Girls 10/11yrs 50m Fly produced a top 6 place medal for Mellissa Machin in a PB time of 41:97 and also produced a PB for Alex Millington 52:77 a 11 sec PB.

Boys 10/11yrs 200m Breast was the final event of the first day and produced a Bronze Medal for Luke Chapman in a 6 sec PB time of 3:37.85 and a 6th place medal for Lewis Collins in a time of 3:55.54

Session Three

Girls 10/11yrs 200im Mellissa Machin and Megan Batterbee swam in this event and Megan achieve a PB time of 3:31.09 a 4 sec improvement.

Boys 10/11yrs 100m Breast Matthew Longhorn and Luke Chapman swam in the is event and both achieved PB times Longhorn achieved a 2 sec PB 1:49.98 and Chapman a 9 se c PB 1:43.26.

Girls 10/11yrs 100 Back produced great swims from Emily Wilkinson 5 sec PB 1:44.17, Hannah Bird 9 sec PB 1:50.05 and Megan Batterbee 2 sec PB 1:35.58.

Boys 10/11yrs 200 free produced PBs for Lewis Marsters 3:03.01 6 sec PB, Matthew Dixon 8 sec PB time of 3:15.63.

Girls 10/11yrs 50m Breast produced 4 PBs Mellissa Machin 47:69 2 sec PB, Emily Wilkinson a great 5 sec PB time of 55:54,Hannah Bird achieve one of her 6 PB’s 59:00 3 sec and Aleah Ross1 sec PB 47.68.

Boys 10/11yrs 50m Back produced a top 10 place for Luke Taylor with a time of 41:98 and a 2 sec PB for Matthew Dixon 45.72

Session Four

Girls 9yrs 50m Breast going in this event was Hollie Verity and she produced a fantastic swim coming in 5th Place with a PB time of 51:51 a 5 sec improvement and to cap it all Hollie achieved her Winter Yorkshire time.

Boys 10/11yrs 100 free produced Winter Yorkshire times for Matthew Longhorn 1:19.50 a 3 sec PB and Luke Taylor 1:20.52 a PB of 8 sec, PB’s were also achieved by Luke Chapman 1:20.94 5 sec PB and Lewis Collins 1:22.18 a 2 sec PB.

Girls 10/11yrs 100 fly produced a great swim for Mellissa Machin when she swam a PB time of 1:46.69 a 12 sec improvement.

Girls 9yrs 50m Fly Jolie Bull and Hollie Verity, Hollie produced a fantastic swim coming in 6th Place with a PB time of 47:49 a 1 sec improvement and a Winter Yorkshire time. Jolie also swam a Winter Yorkshire time of 56:45 while placing 10th.

Boys 10/11yrs 200m Back produced PB’s for Matthew Longhorn 3:02.16 a 6 sec PB whilst placing 6th, Luke Taylor 3:15.15 a 8 sec PB and Luke Chapman 3:17.71 a 10 sec PB.

Girls 10/11yrs 200m Breast produced great swims for Mellissa Machin 3:45.97 a 3 sec PB and Maddie Tait 4:06.91

Age 1 Squad

Age one squad put in some winning performance’s in the Hull open over the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of July. 13 year old Will Maddrell had a fantastic weekend and managed top3 finishes in all his races. He swam his way to 3 bronze medals in the 100 free 200 back, and 50 back. He took silver in the 200 free with a new PB finishing in a time of 2.16.93. He also took silver medals in the 200m I.M and 100 fly. Will managed to scoop 2 gold medals having his best finishes in the 200 fly finishing in a time of 2.39.55 and 50 breast in a time of 37.54. 14 year old Joe Morris also had a great gala gaining top10 finishes in all his events. Joe placed 4th in 200m back and 200m I.M. Joe put in great swims in the 50m breast and 100m back to claim himself 2 silver medals. Joe’s top finishes came in the 200m breast were he finished in a time of 2.50.75 to take the gold medal and 100m breast were his time of 1.20.54 gained him his second gold medal of the weekend.

12 year old Daniel stone also had a winning weekend swimming in the 12/13 year category he still managed to have top 10 finishes in all his events and scoop 4 silver medals. . Daniel just missed out on medals in the 200m I.M, 50 m breast and 100m free finishing in a very respectable 4th place. Daniel swam his way to his 4 silver medals in 50 fly, 50 back, 200 breast and 100 back.

12 year old Bailey Hairsine kept the top 10 finishes up for the boys, managing top 10 finishes in all his events. He just missed out on medals in the 200m I.M placing 5th and 100m fly and 200m back finishing in 4th place. Bailey swam his way to a bronze medal in the 200m fly in a time of 2.44.88. Ben Chapman swam his way to 2 4th place finishes in the 100m back and 50m free. Ben’s best finish came in the 50m back where he took the silver medal in a time of 38.07. Top ten finishes were also seen from 11 year old jack Woodcock who had 4 top ten finishes, 12 year Olds Ruairidh and Joshua Hawkard managed 5 top ten swims between them.

12 year old Shannon Mcgahey put in a great effort after battling illness; she still managed top ten finishes in all her races. Shannon’s most improved swims came in breast stroke where she knocked5 seconds of her 200m and 4 seconds of the 100m. Shannon took the bronze medal in the 12/13 200m free and 50m free and her best finish came in the 200m I.M where she swam her way to the silver medal. Shannon is now looking to regain her fitness for the Nationals.

13 year old Lauren Hall had 7 top ten finishes, finishing 5th in the 200m free and a very respectable 4th in the 200m breast and 200m back. Laurens best finish came in the 50m free where her efforts scooped the silver medal. 11 year old Darcey Hambly managed 6 top ten finishes, Placing 5th in the 200m I.M and finishing just outside the medals in 4th place in the 200m free in a time of 2.37.32.

13 year old Jessica Chapman swam her way to 5 top ten finishes managing a 10th and 3 7th places and her best finish came in the 200m breast where she placed 5th. Great swims were also seen by 11 year old Leoni Bull who knocked 7 seconds of her 100m fly and placed 9th in the 50m free. 12 year old Hannah Willingham had a great swim to knock 15 seconds of her200m free and 10 seconds of her 200m back.

Regional Squad

14 Year old National swimmer Amy Felgate was outstanding; Amy won five gold medals and walked away with to top 14 year old girl for the meet. The Regional squad had a number of swimmers attending the gala. One of the stand out swimmers was 12 year old Elliot Stephenson who swum in 10 events over the weekend improving his times in all 10 buy a total of 90 seconds.

Senior swimmer Adam Winder and Hollie O’Connor were also in great form. Hollie former silver medallist in the Junior European Championships won the open girls 100m freestyle by 7 seconds, the 50m butterfly, but backstroke specialist Hollie was technically perfect in winning the 50m backstroke in a time of 31.78 seconds. Winder took gold in the 50m frontcrawl in a time of 24.27 and backed this up with an impressive swim in the 50m butterfly (26.66). Training partners James Rodmell collected 6 top three finishes, Dale Booth 3, and Danny Brown 2.

16 year old twins Josie and Kate Murray were outstanding Josie won the 100m backstroke and Kate won the 200im and between the collected a total of 8 top three finishes. There were a number of large improvement from the squad including Zoe Webster, Hesh Mardan and Emma Beadle, Dale Ferriby, Ben Annis and Tom Longhorn.

The full squad managed a total of 15 Yorkshire qualifing time between them with with James Rodmell gaining 4, Elliot Stephenson 3,Hollie Oconner1, Bale Booth 2, Emma Beadle 1, Danny Brown 2, Fionnbhar Downes 1, Alex Ferguson 1.
