KUHSC swimmers perform well at the Harrogate Open Junior Meet over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd of October.

12 year old Daniel stone was suffering from a knee injury and was pulled from his I.M races but still managed to walk away with 2 gold medals. Danny came 5th with a new PB in the 200m free . He placed 4th in the 100m free and 4th in the 400m free with a 4 second PB. Danny swam his way to the gold in the 50m back in a time of 35.26 and his new PB time of 2.24.71 earned him the gold medal in the 200m back.

Bailey Hairsine was on good form and walked away with 4 medals. Bailey took the silver medal in 200m free and he swam his way to a 3 second PB in the 400m free to claim his second silver medal. Bailey’s efforts paid off in the 200m and 400m I.M’s where he got PB’s in both races to scoop the gold medals.

Tom King had a winning weekend as well as he walked away with 5 medals. Tom took the bronze in 100m free and he then came in just behind Bailey in the I.M’s claiming the silver in the 200m and the 400m with a 4 second PB. Tom had a fantastic swim in the 200m breast and knocked off an impressive 16 seconds to claim the silver medal, but just missing out on a NER time by 0.26 of a second. Tom’s top finish came in the 200 free where he knocked 3 seconds of from the Hull open earlier in the month to take the gold medal in a time of 2.21.64.

12 year old Hannah Willingham is in form at the moment and managed PB’s in all 6 of her races. Hannah managed new PB’s in her 200m free, 200m breast and 100 free. Hannah managed to knock 2 seconds in her 200m I.M, 3 seconds of her 400m free and her biggest improvement came in the 400m I.M where she knocked of an impressive 10 seconds of her time.

In the 11 year old age group Jack Woodcock’s hard work paid off as he managed 5 PB’s, 4 Yorkshire qualifying times and a bronze medal. Jack swam in the 200m I.M gaining a new PB, in the 200m Back Jack’s 3 second PB was an 11 year old Yorkshire time. Jack gained a 6 second PB in the 200 free and another Yorkshire time in the 400m free. Jack managed a great 9 second PB to hit the Yorkshire qualifying time of 5.41.15. Jack’s best finish came in the 400m I.M where he swam his way to a huge 14 second PB finishing in a time of 6.38.98 to claim his 4th Yorkshire time and the Bronze medal .

Ben Chapman managed to swim his way to 3 PB’s in the 50m fly, 50m free and he finished in a time of 1.16.91 in the 100m free his 3rd PB of the gala.

Yasmin Brown managed a fantastic 5 PB’s and 4 medals. Yasmin swam her way to a new PB time in the 200m back and 400m free. Yasmin’s efforts paid off in the 200m I.M and the 400m I.M when her new PB’s gained her the bronze medals. Yasmin claimed the silver medal in the 200m free in a new PB time of 2.25.81. Yasmin’s top finish came in the 100m free where she scooped the gold medal in a time of 1.06.96.

Darcey Hambly had a good weekend managing to swim her way to 4 PB’s her best finish’s coming in the I.M’s. Darcey knocked 3 seconds of her 200m I.M time and a whole 8 seconds of her 400m I.M time .

10 year old Lewis Collins also had a fantastic gala managing to achieve his first ever NER times. Lewis swam in the 200m I.M and gained a new PB in the 200m breast. Lewis gained a new PB in the 100m free. He continued his success in the 400m free with an 8 second PB to place 5th. His efforts paid off in the 200m free where a fantastic 11 second PB gained him his first NER time and another 5th place. Lewis’s top finish came in the 200m back where his 8 second PB time of 3.02.61 scooped him his second NER time of the gala , as well as been an 11year old Yorkshire time he walked away with the bronze medal.

Aleah Ross was on top form walking away with 4 PB’s and 2 top 3 finishes. Aleah placed 6th in the 100m free and managed an amazing 30 second PB in the 400m free to finish in the top 10. She swam her way to a fantastic 16 second PB in the 200m breast. Aleah new PB time of 46.05 gained her the bronze medal in the 50m breast and her top finish came in the 50m free with a 3 second PB time of 32.52 to claim the gold medal.
