Regional squad coach Graham Martin took a squad of 13 swimmers to compete at the York City baths regional qualifier at Ennerdale pool. The squad managed a total of 37 personal best swims and 8 top 3 finishes between them.

14 year old Joe Morris led the way with 2 gold medals in his age group. Joe swum to gold in the 100m breaststroke in a time of 1.19.83 second and was first in his age group in the 50m butterfly event. Senior swimmer James Rodmell also proved he still has what it takes to compete at this level. James who swum in 7 events over the weekend managed 5 top 3 finishes, 3 bronze medal in 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly and the 100m breaststroke and 2 silver medal in the 200m free (2.04.78) and 100m free (56.77). Training partner Dale Booth did well in the 50m butterfly and claimed silver in a time of 28.15.

13 year old Elliot Stephenson had a number of good improved swims knocking 5 seconds off his 100m breaststroke, 4 seconds off his 200m freestyle. But Dale Ferriby showed the largest improvement in the boys knocking a total of 16 second off his four swims. Other big personal best in the boys came from Tom Longhorn in the 50m butterfly and Ben Annis in the boys 200m freestyle.

Only three girls attended the gala from the Regional squad but all of them managed some improvement in their swims. Emma Beadle as usual managed to improve in almost all of her swims including the 200m free and the 100m backstroke with Zoe Webster and Eleanor Johnstone showing improved form.
