At the first Hull and District of 2012, six of the Kingston’s upon Hull’s swimmers were presented with the 2011 overall age group winners trophys. The six Hull and District galas are swum over the year with points being awarded in each gala based on the placings the swimmers achieve. Overall trophies are awarded to the swimmers scoring the highest number of points over the year. Trophies this year went to Kingston upon Hull swimmers Aleah Ross 10 years age group, Lauran Hall 13 years, Emma Beadle 14 years, and in the boys Ben Chapman 11 years, Bailey Hairsine 12 years and James Rodmell in the 15 years and over age group.

The 2012 championship got off to a flying start. On form Aleah Ross swimming in the 11/12 age group secured two 1st place’s in the girl’s 200 im 2.55.7 sec and 100 Breaststroke 1.38.2, also competing in the same race’s was Megan Batterbee, Megan secured two 4th place finishes. In the boys 11/12 age group Rewa Mardan was placed 2nd in the 200 im, then went on to secure 1st place and top trophy in the boys 100 breaststroke in a time 1.38.0 , Mathew Longhorn secured a 4th place in the same event. Not to be out done 14 year old Sophie Holdsworth swam to gold in the 200 Freestyle and silver in the 100m Butterfly, gaining pb’s in both

13 year old Elliot Stephenson swimming in the 13/14 age group produced two fine swims in the 200 frontcrawl 2nd place and 3rd place in the 100 butterfly. Competing in the girls 15years and over 200m butterfly event Emma Beadle had tough opposition, Emma secured a worthy 2nd in the 200 fly 2.55.6 and a 4th in the 100 frontcrawl also competing in the 100 free was Natalie Moon who reduced her entry time by 5 seconds.

In the boys 15years and over, not to be out done by his brother Heshaw Mardan secured 1st place and the top trophy in the tough 200 fly 2.53.6 then went on to take 4th in the 100 frontcrawl,also competing in the 100 frontcrawl was Tom Longhorn.
