KUHSC Medal Haul at Yorkshires

An outstanding Championships for KUHSC!

Yorkshire Champions in nine events and a great long list of medals winners and finalists!

Swimmers from Kingston upon Hull Swimming Club have taken part in three rounds of high-level swimming competition, rolled out over three weekends throughout February.

This year's Yorkshire Championships kicked off to an excellent start! KUHSC were firmly on the medal table and a steady stream of top 10 positions throughout the first weekend of racing in Leeds.

The middle weekend of competition saw some truly remarkable swims from KUHSC - so many swimmers stepping it up for the finals. An impressive medal-haul and many well-deserved pbs!

The penultimate day of the Yorkshire Championships held at Ponds Forge Sheffield added yet more medals to KUHSC's tally. It was a busy day of 50s - some excellent PBs and as usual, a good deal of learning to take with us moving forward into the year of training ahead.

Special mentions should be given to Oscar Focht securing six Yorkshire Champion titles, 5 Silver medals and 2 Bronze medals over fifteen races. Zac Baughan-Withington, Dylan Hill, Libby Munday, Lucas Christie, Rio Daodu and Joseph Moment all brought home at least double medal hauls and much more from the Champs too. An incredible achievement from you all.

The final day of racing and a very well done to the boys 13/14 relay team for a spectacular SILVER in the 200m medley and BRONZE in the 200m freestyle.

Boys 11/12: 200m free 6th and 200m medley 6^th
Boys 15/16: 200m free 8^th
Girls 9/10: 200m free 5^th

Some exceptional swimming from KUHSC was demonstrated throughout the Championships with amazing effort from everyone until the very last moment of the very last day. Thank you to all the hours of support from our Coaches and well done to everyone who took part. The hours in the pool certainly do pay off! You should all be extremely proud of yourselves and the commitment you all give. #beatyourbest
