Regional gold-run for KUHSC!
04 Nov 2023
KUHSC carried on where they left off last month in Leeds with their impressive medal haul at this weekend’s North East Regional Swimming Championships in Sheffield. In total, the club took home 13 gold, 5 silver and 9 bronze medals and numerous top 10/finalist placements.
Young Oscar Focht won an astonishing 9 gold and 2 silver medals in the boys 11-year category and Dylan Hill clocked a new personal best, winning gold in the 100m backstroke. In the fiercely competitive Open-age category Rio Daodu secured gold medals in the 16/Under category for 50m backstroke, 200m backstroke and 200m freestyle. There were some fantastic personal best times at the highest level and for some of our younger swimmers it was their first regional gala but they all rose to the occasion and swam their very best. It is a great achievement simplify to qualify for a gala at his level. All swimmers gained invaluable racing experience and will take this forward on their swimming journeys.
